Founder of 501 Properties, Levi Rogers, started the business with a simple goal: to help people navigate the construction industry, particularly when renovating their own homes. Since then, 501 Properties has grown into a well-established Northern Irish company, delivering projects across both Northern Ireland and Great Britain. Drawing on years of industry experience and a trusted team of skilled tradespeople, Levi’s latest project was perhaps her most personal yet, the renovation of her own home, transforming the space into a home that reflected her vision and style.
The Aim of the Project
When it came to renovating her own home, Levi was able to draw on years of industry experience and a trusted network of skilled professionals to bring her vision to life. The aim was to create two spaces that balanced practicality with style, incorporating bespoke storage solutions designed for modern everyday living. Wanting something truly different, Levi worked with Exclusive Cabinetry to bring the designs to reality. Using a range of SAM products, the team carefully cut, adapted and crafted individual components to create bespoke cabinetry tailored specifically to each space. Attention to detail was at the heart of the project, with carefully considered features creating distinctive focal points that enhanced the character of both rooms.
Creating Bespoke Designs with SAM
Exclusive Cabinetry selected a range of SAM dado rail, architrave and cornice profiles as the foundation for the bespoke cabinetry. With a clear vision for each space, the team carefully cut, combined and adapted the profiles to create unique detailing and a layered, refined finish. By using multiple SAM products in creative ways, they were able to craft completely bespoke features that elevated the design of each unit. The result is cabinetry that is both practical and visually striking, seamlessly integrating with the overall style of the home.
Creating Bespoke Cabinetry with SAM MDF Mouldings
Selecting the right materials was a key part of the project. The mouldings needed to offer design flexibility while maintaining a high-quality finish, allowing bespoke details to be created without compromising on practicality or availability.
“For this project, we needed detailed mouldings that were versatile, good quality and readily available,” says Adam of Exclusive Cabinetry, “SAM offered a variety of decorative profiles that could be ordered online in smaller quantities which worked well for us.”
For the downstairs alcove units SAM37 Dado Rail was used to create a detailed design on the doors for added character. While the SAM5651 Classic Architrave and SAM3770 Cornice, created a bespoke design for the top of the unit.
For the wardrobe design in the bedroom, SAM37 Dado Rail was used on the front of the doors and drawers, with the SAM5651 Classic Architrave used for the top detailing. The finished result highlights the versatility of SAM MDF mouldings, showing how standard profiles can be reimagined to achieve a custom, high-end look.
MDF Mouldings for Custom Cabinetry
Using SAM MDF mouldings for the cabinetry detailing allowed Exclusive Cabinetry to create a truly bespoke design with ease. The smooth, defect free surface meant cutting and working with the product was more simple than alternative timber products. SAM MDF mouldings are supplied pre-primed with a smooth, consistent surface, helping to reduce preparation time during installation. Once the bespoke profiles had been crafted in Exclusive Cabinetry’s workshop, only a light sanding was required before applying the final coat of paint to match the home’s interior colour scheme.
